Bicyclist dies in chain-reaction wreck in Belmont community
A 73-year-old bicyclist was killed Sunday in a chain-reaction wreck in the Belmont community.
Investigators had not released the name of the man who was killed. Nathaniel Manson Lancaster, 38, the driver of a 1994 Ford Ranger pickup, was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
Police say Lancaster was trying to turn onto Hawthorne Lane from Parkwood Avenue about 11:30 a.m. Sunday, when he crashed into a 2002 Lexus driven by a 23-year-old woman. The Lexus lost control and struck the bicycle from behind.
