Lincoln County sheriff’s investigators on Friday asked for the public’s help again in identifying the man who robbed O’Reilly’s Auto Parts at 367 North N.C. 16 on Sunday.

The office also released surveillance photos of a car believed to have been involved in the robbery.

Shortly before 5 p.m., a man with a silver handgun demanded money from workers in the store, and the employees gave him about $300 from two cash registers, investigators said.

The money was placed in a white grocery bag, and the robber told the employees to lie on the floor and count to 20 before they moved. He then left out the front door. The employees waited about five minutes before calling 911, the sheriff’s office said.

The robber was wearing a black hoodie, black ski mask, sun glasses, black gloves and blue and gray checked sweat or gym pants.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call sheriff’s Detective Frank Runyon at 704-732-9050 or Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
