Nine charged with driving while impaired

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police charged nine motorists with driving while impaired at a traffic checkpoint late Friday and early Saturday in the 7600 block of East W.T. Harris Boulevard.

Police issued a total of 53 charges and citations, including 26 for having no operator’s license, five for driving while licensed revoked and three each for drug possession and having open containers of alcohol, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Sgt. Jesse Wood said. Joe Marusak
