Mooresville robbery suspect jailed in Charlotte

A Mooresville robbery suspect was jailed in Charlotte late Tuesday.

Ellis Trovon Moore, 27, of Davidson, faces two counts of armed robbery in connection with two hold-ups early Saturday.

The Liberty Rushco gas station in the 100 block of Brawley School Road was robbed shortly after 3 a.m., and the Shell Quality Mart in the 300 block of West Plaza Drive was robbed about 4:30 a.m., police said.

Police said they spotted a vehicle at U.S. 21 and N.C. 150 Saturday morning that matched the description of the vehicle in both robberies.

Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but it headed onto Interstate 77 southbound and soon into Mecklenburg County.

Police have not said where they found Moore, confirming only that he was detained and taken to the Mecklenburg County jail.
