Police search for gunman in west Charlotte shooting

The search for a gunman is underway after a shooting late Monday in west Charlotte.

Police were called out around 11:30 p.m. to Freedom Drive and Toddville Road.

Police said a man tried to drive himself to the hospital after being shot in the waist area. He then called police, who said he is not cooperating with the investigation.

The man had minor injuries, and police have released no names or possible motives in the case.
