1 dead, 1 injured in south Charlotte shooting
A man died and a woman was injured when they were shot early Wednesday at a home in the 6100 block of Coolbrook Court, off West Tyvola Road in south Charlotte.
Terrence White, 23, was pronounced dead at the home by Medic.
Police said they found the injured woman at a home in the 300 block of Archdale Drive, where she had been taken by an acquaintance. Medic took the woman to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police have not released her name or age.
Police said they responded to a call of a disturbance at the Coolbrook Court home at 11:18 p.m. Tuesday, but a man there told them he needed no assistance. Officers went inside the home but didn’t find anyone who needed assistance.
The next call to police came at 12:14 a.m. from the Archdale Drive home.
Two minutes later, police responded to a call in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon at the Coolbrook Court home and found White with a gunshot wound.
Police were canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses Wednesday morning.
