Sheriff’s office deputies have charged a 30-year-old Chester man with murder in the death of a woman whose body was found near her home on Fifth Street last month.

Jermaine Marquel Bell was arrested Friday, according to the Chester County Sheriff’s Office. Bell is being held at the Chester County detention center without bond.

Authorities say Bell strangled Judith Lindsay, according to arrest warrants. Her body was found Sept. 13 after her boyfriend reported her missing.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the sheriff’s office investigated the case.

Lindsay, 51, was found unclothed in a bushy area, officialssaid.

Court records indicate Bell was arrested two days before Lindsay’s body was found. Those charges were for trespassing and receiving stolen goods and were unrelated to the slaying, said Chief Deputy Robert Sprouse with the sheriff’s office.
