Gastonia police have arrested a suspect in the Aug. 2 fatal stabbing of 63-year-old Charles Edward Littlejohn.
Police charged Cyrus Charles Moss, 34, with first-degree murder. He was jailed without bail Friday morning.
Police found Littlejohn unresponsive in his bed in the 100 block of Eastover Drive.
“He kept to himself and never bothered anybody,” daughter Brittany Littlejohn told Observer news partner WBTV in August.
Littlejohn’s daughter showed WBTV the glass window in the kitchen that had been broken. It is believed the assailant was able to reach the deadbolt on the kitchen door.
Police have not said what they believe led to the stabbing but said Moss also lived on Eastover Drive. Joe Marusak
