Shelby police have charged three men and a woman in connection with the shooting death of Travis Dwayne Wallace in a room at the Super 8 motel on East Dixon Boulevard.
Police said they found Wallace, 35, with a gunshot wound shortly before 4:30 a.m. Monday after responding to a 911 call. Paramedics pronounced him dead in the room.
An attempted robbery had occurred, and drugs were found, Shelby police Capt. Rick Stafford told the Gaston Gazette.
Charged with first-degree murder and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon were Timothy John Clark, 46, of Buffalo, S.C., and Willa Jean Hucks, 37, Brint Ray Davis, 26, and Michael Anthony Dinneen, 36, all of Union, S.C.
