2 shot, 1 dead in west Charlotte

Two people were shot – and one of them died – in a fight Sunday in west Charlotte, police said.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were called to a home on Arty Avenue near Wilkinson Boulevard about 11 a.m. and found Marvin Harrison, 26, with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead a few minutes later.

Emergency workers took a second man to Carolinas Medical Center with a leg injury that wasn’t life-threatening, police said. The department did not release his name.

Police said they believe Harrison shot the second man. Harrison and a woman then became involved in a physical struggle and Harrison was shot. The department did not disclose the woman’s name.
