School bus safety campaign nets 1,385 citations and charges in 9-county region
Four motorists were charged with passing a stopped school bus and 21 were charged with driving while impaired in a nine-county region that includes Mecklenburg, Union and Gaston counties during last week’s Operation Stop Arm.
The statewide campaign by the State Highway Patrol focused on promoting traffic safety around schools, school buses and school bus stops.
Troopers issued a total of 1,385 citations and criminal charges in the nine-county region.
