Rowan County man charged with statutory rape of 14-year-old girl

A 24-year-old Rowan County man has been arrested on statutory rape and other charges involving a 14-year-old victim, Rowan County sheriff’s investigators said.

Christopher Ramon-Sanchez is accused of having sex with the girl at various locations around Salisbury beginning in September, while using marijuana, investigators said.

The incidents occurred while the girl was supposed to be in school, the sheriff’s office said.

Ramon-Sanchez was charged with six counts of felony statutory rape, 11 counts of felony statutory sex offense and six counts of misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

He was in the Rowan County jail on $250,000 bail Wednesday.
