Police: man shot dead in southeast Charlotte apartment
Police were canvassing an apartment complex in southwest Charlotte late Wednesday trying to determine who shot a man dead.
Investigators haven’t released the name of the man who was killed or given a name or a description of the killer. They said the shooting wasn’t random and that the victim knew his killer.
The shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. on Creekwood Quorum Drive near the McAlpine Creek greenway.
Officers were called about an assault with a deadly weapon and found a man dead inside from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Police haven’t released the man’s name because his family hasn’t been notified.
The killing was the second police investigated on Wednesday. Earlier that day, a 53-year-old woman was shot and killed and her boyfriend was arrested after a brief purusit in the victim’s car.
Police encouraged anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Tipsters are eligible for a reward for information that leads to an arrest.
