CMPD aware of Halloween threat by anarchist group
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they are aware of a warning issued by the FBI about an alleged threat against police officers made by an anarchist group.
The FBI issued the alert to CMPD and other police departments across the nation that members of the National Liberation Militia might be planning to dress in costume, cause disturbances and ambush responding officers.
“The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is aware of the threats,” said CMPD Spokesman Officer Keith Trietley. “As a department we continuously remain alert when it comes to the safety of our officers.”
