Lincoln County man, son face drug charges

A Lincoln County man and his 17-year-old son were arrested on drug charges this week after a surveillance operation by sheriff’s investigators in Crouse.

Chad Elliott Varner, 40, was charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $10,000 bail.

Varner’s son, Chad Elliott Varner-Thomas, was charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also was released on $10,000 bail.

Officers investigated after receiving complaints of drug sales and seized 3 ounces of marijuana, digital scales and multiple plastic baggies from Varner’s home.
