Gastonia police search for man who stole $499 golf club

Gastonia police are asking for the public’s help to identify the man who walked out of Dicks Sporting Goods on Cox Road with a $499 golf club and never paid for it.

Gastonia police are asking for the public’s help to identify the man who walked out of Dick’s Sporting Goods on Cox Road with a $499 golf club and never paid for it.

The man’s image was captured on surveillance video. He is white, has brown hair and was wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt and dark shoes, police said.

Anyone who can help identify the man is asked to call Gastonia police Detective David Whitlock at 704- 842-5123 or Crime Stoppers of Gaston County at 704-861-8000. Crime Stoppers pays up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
