Man charged with selling marijuana outside West Lincoln High School

A Vale man was arrested after Lincoln County sheriff’s investigators saw hydroponic marijuana being sold within feet of West Lincoln High School.

No students were involved, and none of the drug was sold at the school, sheriff’s Lt. Jon Propst said.

“But because it was being sold so close to a school, we wanted to try and quickly eliminate his opportunity to sell again,” Propst said.

Chandler Brad Harrison, 21, was charged Thursday with possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance schedule VI, maintaining a dwelling/vehicle for a controlled substance, sell and deliver a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of school property, driving while impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Harrison was jailed on $26,000 bail.

Hydro marijuana is grown using a nutrient-rich water solution instead of soil, Propst said. It typically yields higher amounts of crop and has a higher level of potency, he said.

The street value for hydroponic marijuana is $250 to $350 per ounce, according to Propst, and Thursday's seizure was worth about $2,400.
