Man wears a woman’s wig trying to cash stolen checks
Gaston County police are searching for a man who wore a woman’s wig as he tried to cash stolen checks in Charlotte, Mint Hill, Fort Mill, S.C., and possibly Union County.
The man is in his late 20s to early 40s and was driving a silver Chevy Malibu. His wig has long, straight and light or blonde hair in a bangs-style cut, police said.
The man has used identification from a purse stolen from a car in Gaston County.
Police said the case serves as a reminder to lock your car doors and keep valuables out of sight.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Gaston County Police Department at 704-866-3320 or Crime Stoppers of Gaston County at 704-861-8000.
