2 charges added for Salisbury teen accused of attempted murder
Two additional charges have been filed against an 18-year-old from Salisbury who is accused of attacking a woman in an abandoned house.
Brandon Ulysses Flores, who had previously been charged with attempted murder, now also faces charges of false imprisonment and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He is being held without bond at the Rowan County Detention Center.
The victim identified herself as Flores’ girlfriend, according to a report from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. She told investigators that Flores took her to an abandoned house in the 300 block of East Ritchie Road in Salisbury, attacked her with a knife and held her against her will.
Flores and the victim left her place of residence around noon Saturday and planned to go out for lunch, according to the report. He stopped at the abandoned house, telling the victim his brother had left something for him there, according to the report.
After waiting awhile for Flores to return, the victim went inside the home to look for him. Sometime after the assault, he agreed to take her to the hospital, according to the report.
The victim has not been identified. She was treated at Rowan Regional Medical Center for her injuries, which included a serious cut on her left hand, according to the sheriff’s report.
Flores, a senior and soccer player at Jesse Carson High School in China Grove, was Rowan County Player of the Year in 2014.
