Report: Man shoplifted computer, $230 in meat from Rock Hill store
A man was charged with shoplifting Saturday after taking more than $200 in meat and a computer from a store, according to Rock Hill Police.
Officers responded to Walmart on Dave Lyle Boulevard about 1 p.m. Saturday after an employee reported someone was trying to steal a computer, according to a police report. Surveillance footage showed the suspect load his shopping cart with $230 worth of meat and go into the electronics section, where he placed a computer in the cart.
The suspect left the store through the garden entrance, police said. He was later arrested on a trespassing charge and placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where officers served him with a warrant for shoplifting-third and subsequent offense.
The store’s loss prevention employee said he was “familiar” with the suspect from previous incidents.
