2 arrested following fatal shooting near Gaston courthouse
Police arrested two Gastonia men after a fatal shooting near the Gaston County courthouse Tuesday afternoon.
Gastonia Police identified the victim as Charles Anthony Thompson, 49, of Gastonia.
Anthony Sanders, 51, is charged with first-degree murder. Travis Davis, 30, is charged with being an accessory to murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. Witnesses told WSOC-TV at the scene that the shooter was in a wheelchair.
The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. on Allison Avenue in Gastonia, a few blocks from the courthouse. Shots were apparently fired during an argument.
