West Meck High student injured by would-be robber
A West Mecklenburg High student was struck with a gun by a would-be robber Wednesday in a neighborhood near the school, police said.
The student was able to run away and was later treated for minor injuries, police said.
The suspect fired a gun, police said, but the shot did not strike anyone.
The student was assaulted shortly before 9 a.m. in the 7200 block of Tuckaseegee Road, police said. That’s at Park Lane near the high school.
WSOC-TV reported that the student was hit in the head with the gun. The gunman tried to sell the student drugs, the station reported.
Officers searched the area but were unable to find the gunman. West Mecklenburg High was placed on lockdown during the search.
