Police have arrested a 61-year-old man they believe robbed two pharmacies and a Harris Teeter in south Charlotte in the last two months, including a crime on Wednesday.

Late Thursday, police identified the suspect as Scott Alton Hill. His arrest and bail information weren’t available Thursday evening.

Investigators had earlier sought the public’s help in finding the robber, putting out a description of a 180-pound man with a brown shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.

Detectives located Hill on Thursday and he voluntarily agreed to come to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department headquarters to be interviewed, according to a police news release. During the interview with detectives, Mr. Hill confessed to the robberies, police said.

He was charged with three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The latest robbery happened shortly before noon Wednesday at the CVS Pharmacy in the 6400 block of Rea Road, police said.

Police suspect Hill robbed the Harris Teeter in the 16600 block of Lancaster Highway on Nov. 7 and the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 11200 block of West Providence Road on Oct. 22.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
