Police: 1 dead Thursday after Hickory shooting

Hickory police say a man is dead, and a suspect on the run, after a shooting Thursday afternoon.

The shooting occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in the 600 block of 17th Street Drive, N.W.

Police said the suspect fled the scene on foot. K-9 detectives were used to try to find the suspect, but could not find him.
