Badge and cap stolen from car of Mecklenburg County sheriff’s officer

Authorities are searching for a thief who stole a badge, photo ID and cap from the car of a Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s officer.

The theft occurred in Lincoln County, when the car was parked in the 200 block of N.C. 16 North, sheriff’s investigators said Friday.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Lincoln Sheriff’s Office at 704-732-9050 or Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909.
