Police reported no significant crime issues uptown during the Carolina Panthers game on Sunday, after security was beefed up because of terrorism concerns in the wake of attacks in Paris.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police had an increased presence around Bank of America Stadium. City Manager Ron Carlee declared the game an extraordinary event, which gave officers expanded search powers around the stadium and in tailgating areas.

Police said no one had levied a specific threat against the stadium or Sunday’s game but that safety concerns remained because of the terrorist attacks in Paris that killed 129 people. The National Football League increased security outside of its stadiums in the wake of the attacks.

Officials at Bank of America Stadium were already examining security measures after protesters rappelled from the upper deck and unfurled a banner during a Monday Night Football game earlier this month.

Police said increased security measures would likely remain in place for future home games.
