Two people shot, seriously injured in north Charlotte
Two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being shot in north Charlotte Tuesday.
The double shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. on the 2800 block of W. Sugar Creek Road, near Mallard Creek Road. Police confirmed that two people had been shot. Both were taken to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.
The victims' names have not been released.
Officers have not released much information about the incident, but investigators had an area roped off around the U.S. Fried Chicken restaurant in Derita Plaza.
Police have not said what may have led to the shooting, or if anyone was taken into custody.
