Suspect in Cleveland County shooting in custody
A man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Cleveland County on Tuesday has turned himself in to authorities.
Quavis Jerome Clyde, 33, was taken into custody by the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office. He will face a charge of first-degree murder for the death of Shawn Lamont Borders, 43.
Deputies were called to Friendship Road in Shelby and found Borders dead, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner. A witness told investigators the suspect had run away and that the two men may have quarreled.
