Alleged Monroe dealer charged with murder Thursday following fatal heroin overdose
A Monroe woman was charged with second-degree murder and selling heroin Thursday after a man she allegedly sold drugs to overdosed and died, the Union County Sheriff’s Office said.
On May 12, authorities found Trenton Phillips, 26, dead in a Monroe home. In November, results from an autopsy found he died of a heroin overdose.
Detectives developed evidence that Farrell Glaser, 23, supplied him the drugs, the Union County Sheriff’s Office said, and authorities obtained an arrest warrant for her on Wednesday.
At 8 p.m. Wednesday, authorities went to the 2900 block of Sweetgrass Lane for a reported heroin overdose involving Glaser. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment, released then taken into custody early Thursday.
Glaser is in Union County Jail on $100,000 bail.
Sheriff Eddie Cathey said Union County, following a national trend, has seen an increase in heroin use and overdoses.
