Police still searching for suspect in Salisbury armed robbery
Authorities in Rowan County need help identifying a man who robbed a Salisbury convenience store at gunpoint earlier this month.
The robbery occurred around 8 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Village Grocery store in the 4400 block of U.S. 601. The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said a man, dressed in a hooded shirt with his face covered, robbed the clerk while carrying a shotgun.
Surveillance video released Tuesday shows the man entering the store carrying the weapon. He is described as a white male in his mid-40s with salt and peppered, ear-length hair and facial stubble.
The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the store, the sheriff’s office said.
Witnesses reported seeing a small, black or dark-colored pickup truck (similar to a Chevrolet S-10, Ford Ranger or Mazda-style small truck) at the store at the time of the robbery, the Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Lt. Chad Moose at 704-216-8687, Detective Travis Allen 704-216-8715 or Crime Stoppers at 866-639-5245.
