TSA officers recover 4 handguns at Charlotte’s airport

The Transportation Security Administration said its officers discovered four loaded guns in carry-on bags at Charlotte's airport in the week leading up to Christmas.

All of the firearms were handguns – two .38-caliber pistols, one 9 mm and one .32-caliber. Three of the guns had bullets in the chamber. The agency has not said what charges the people carrying the guns would face.

Last week, TSA officers discovered 52 guns in carry-on bags in airports across America, and 44 were loaded. Agents also recovered more than a dozen knives, a machete and an ice pick hidden inside a cane.

Agents also seized an inert rocket-propelled grenade at Raleigh-Durham International Airport last week.
