CMPD: 1 in custody after NE Charlotte armed robbery, chase
At least one person is in custody, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, in connection with an armed robbery early Wednesday in northeast Charlotte.
According to investigators, officers responded to an armed robbery around 12:30 a.m. on Downpatrick Place. A short time later, officers spotted the car in connection with the armed robbery.
The suspects led police on a brief chase to an apartment complex on Montego Drive, where police say at least three people jumped out of the car and ran into nearby woods.
Police said at least one of those people who jumped from the car was taken into custody. There is no word yet on any other arrests.
Police haven't said whether the victim was hurt.
