Body found in burning car outside elementary school

Authorities found a dead body in a burning car near an elementary school in Gaston County on Wednesday, according to multiple media reports.

Investigators in Gaston County haven’t released details about the case or identified the person found inside the car. The burning car was found near Warlick Elementary School on Spencer Mountain Road, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.

WSOC-TV initially reported that a body was found inside the car.

The vehicle was reportedly set on fire some time before 7:30 p.m. near the school. Ranlo Police, Ranlo Fire, Lowell Police, EMS and other law enforcement agencies on were all on scene.
