2 shot in southwest Charlotte

A man and a woman were shot in southwest Charlotte and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Thursday morning, according to Medic.

The shootings happened in the 5800 block of Westpark Drive at about 9:30 a.m., Medic reported on its Twitter account.

The people were shot at a Comfort Inn and Suites, according to WSOC-TV.

The shooting was domestic-related, and police believe the assailant and victims knew each other, reported WBTV, The Observer’s news partner.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police released no information about the shootings as of noon.
