A man was driving more than 80 mph on Interstate 77 while intoxicated and with an unrestrained 2-year-old girl in the car, according to a Rock Hill police report.

Jason Dale Naulder, 41, was charged with DUI, child endangerment with DUI and driving without a license, according to the report. He was placed in the Rock Hill city jail, where he remained Monday under $2,000 bond.

The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a police report. An officer began following a Dodge Ram pickup that was traveling north at an estimated 80 mph in a 60 mph zone. The truck drifted outside its lane and nearly struck a concrete divider and another vehicle.

The truck’s driver later stopped after crossing the Catawba River bridge, and the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol on Naulder’s breath, police said. Naulder told the officer his license was suspended.

Police say they saw a child safety seat in the front passenger seat, an unrestrained 2-year-old girl and an open container of Four Loko malt liquor in the car.

Naulder refused sobriety testing and was taken into custody, the report states. The 2-year-old girl was released to her mother on the scene.
