26 guns stolen during Statesville store break-in

Statesville police are searching for thieves who stole 26 weapons from the Sportsmans Hangout store in Westpark Shopping Center early Monday.

The store , which is located on Taylorsville Highway, was broken into at about 2:15 a.m. Video footage shows two males using a rock to break out the front glass of the business, police said.

The thieves stole 24 handguns and two assault-style rifles from display cases, police said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Statesville police at 704-878-3516 or Iredell Crime Stoppers at 704-662-1340. Callers can remain anonymous, police said.
