Gastonia man, 64, arrested on child pornography charges

A 64-year-old Gastonia man has been arrested on child pornography charges.

Gaston County police charged Christopher Hays Crump with five counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor this week. Crump was in the Gaston County Jail on $150,000 bail Thursday.

Crump’s arrest followed a month-long investigation into the downloading and sharing of digital images, police said. Gastonia police and the FBI also worked on the case.
