A Lincoln County couple who authorities said brought large amounts of methamphetamine into the county from out of state was arrested early Thursday at a home in Lincolnton.
Sheriff’s investigators said they searched two weeks for Earl Gary “Gabby” Brooks, 60, and Megan Elizabeth Campos, 34. They were found hiding in a home on Elizabeth Avenue, investigators said.
According to the sheriff’s office, the couple made regular trips out of state to buy methamphetamine that they distributed to several street-level dealers back home.
“These subjects were a substantial source of drug distribution for several street-level meth dealers in Lincoln County,” sheriff’s narcotics Lt. Jon Propst said in announcing the arrests. “Sheriff (David) Carpenter continues to give our detectives the tools and resources we need to aggressively seek out and arrest these types of serious drug offenders.”
