5th suspect arrested in Mooresville home invasion
Mooresville police arrested a fifth suspect and are searching for a sixth in a home invasion late Sunday.
With the assistance of the Davidson Police Department, Genesis D’Jamon Kerns, 16, was arrested late Tuesday and jailed on $50,000 bail.
Arrest warrants have been issued for Dazarion Lakyte Jordan, 18, of Cornelius, on charges of attempted armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree burglary.
Police said the assailants forced their way into a home in the Willow Creek Apartments on Scenic Drive about 11 p.m. and tried to rob those inside. A fight broke out and the assailants left the apartment and drove away in an older-model Hyundai Elantra. No injuries were reported.
Police previously arrested Tymir Tyvay Lowe, 24, of Kannapolis; Taveres Labron Morrison, 17, of Mooresville; Devonte Akeem Coleman, 19, of Mooresville; and Devion Amar Coleman, 17, of Mooresville. Each was charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit a robbery with a dangerous weapon, and first-degree burglary.
