Statesville man charged in rape of 14-year-old

A 22-year-old Statesville man has been accused of raping a 14-year-old.

Iredell County sheriff’s investigators charged Jalen Latron Chambers with statutory rape of a child less than 15 and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Chambers was jailed on $5,000 bail.

Investigators interviewed the child at Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center in Statesville and found and interviewed other witnesses, Sheriff Darren Campbell said.
