Rowan County woman charged in boyfriend’s shooting
A 23-year-old Rowan County woman has been charged in connection with the shooting of her boyfriend on Sunday.
Justin Joyce, 22, of Granite Quarry, was shot in his face during a domestic-related argument, sheriff’s investigators said. He is recovering at a hospital in Winston-Salem, investigators said Wednesday.
Joyce’s girlfriend, Cori Brooks Mayhew, was arrested and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. She was jailed Tuesday night without bail because the charge is domestic-related. She will appear before a judge to have her bail set.
