Rocky River High adds more security on Wednesday
Rocky River High in Mint Hill added more police after learning of a rumor through social media that “an incident” would occur at the school on Wednesday, Principal Brandy Nelson said in a connect-5 message to parents.
“At this time, we have additional security on campus and are closely monitoring all student movement,” Nelson said in her message. “Again, your child’s safety is my top priority and we are vigorously investigating the rumors. I will keep you abreast of the situation as it unfolds today. Please expect another communication from me after the school day ends today.”
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police SWAT members were at each entrance and exit of the school Wednesday morning.
