Tarboro Police Chief Damon Williams has been named Mooresville’s police chief.
Williams has been Tarboro’s chief since 2012 and an adjunct professor of criminal justice at Edgecombe Community College since 2013. He previously served in various roles with the Maxton Police Department, Taylortown Police Department and the Fayetteville State University campus police.
Williams will start in Mooresville on April 4. After Mooresville Police Chief Carl Robbins retired last year, Maj. Bryan Anderson served as interim chief.
“Damon Williams has strong leadership skills, will be a great complement to the existing staff at the Mooresville Police Department and will easily engage throughout our community,” Mooresville Town Manager Erskine Smith said in announcing his appointment of Williams.
