Tega Cay police: York woman showed minor nude photos, porn

Police in Tega Cay arrested a York woman Saturday on charges that she allegedly showed two minors nude photos and a pornography website, according to a police report and jail records.

Ashley Noe Griffin, 30, was charged with displaying obscene materials to a minor and probation violation, according to police and jail records. Griffin was released on $63,000 bond after her arrest, according to the York County Detention Center.

In late January, York County Sheriff’s Office detectives contacted Tega Cay police after a woman and her minor son called deputies about the incident where Griffin made allegations about the juvenile’s mother.

The victim alleged to police that Griffin sent him text messages at 2 a.m. and also called another juvenile who was with him, asking if she could come see them at boy’s grandmother’s home in Tega Cay, according to the incident report. Griffin later went to the house and showed the teens the nude photos and the website.

Tega Cay detectives took written statements from both juveniles, the police report states.

The display of obscene materials is a felony and carries up to 10 years in prison if convicted, said Maj. David Nelson of the Tega Cay Police Department.

Griffin was charged with probation violation after she allegedly was classified as an absconder for failing to report and pay fees following a conviction for forgery, according to Pete O’Boyle, spokesman for the S.C. Department of Probation, parole and Pardon Services.
