Police respond to four shootings in four hours

A person was shot and seriously injured on Barrington Drive late Tuesday — the fourth shooting in Charlotte in a four-hour period.

Police and paramedics haven’t released many deatils about the Barrington Drive shooting, which was under investigation late Tuesday. One person was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with a life-threatening injury.

Officers have been responding to reports of shootings since late afternoon.

About 4:34 p.m., officers were called to Brookshire Boulevard for a report of an assault. When they got there, they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics said they took a person to Carolinas Medical Center with serious serious injuries. One person has been detained in the case, according to WBTV, but police haven’t identified the person or released details about criminal charges. Another person was injured by shattered glass and found about a mile away.

About 5:30 p.m., two people had to be taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds after being shot at The Plaza and Milton Road.
