Claremont man arrested in west Lincoln stabbing

A Claremont man has been arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing that seriously injured a Lincolnton area man early Sunday.

Donny Wayne Wilson Jr., 44, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, inflicting serious injury. He was jailed on a $35,000 bail.

Lincoln County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a fight at a home in the 4800 block of Gideon Drive. They found Phillip Zachary Sisk with multiple stab wounds in his chest and stomach.

Gideon Drive is south of West Lincoln Middle and High schools.

Witnesses told deputies that Wilson left in a car driven by his girlfriend.

Lincoln County EMS took Sisk to CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.
