49 drivers charged with DWI in Mecklenburg County during St. Patrick’s campaign
Forty-nine drivers in Mecklenburg County were arrested on charges of driving while impaired during the statewide St. Patrick’s “Booze It and Lose It” campaign.
Mecklenburg County had the second most DWI arrests during the five-day campaign, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation.
Cumberland County, which includes Fayetteville and Fort Bragg, had the most arrests at 89.
The campaign netted a total of 790 DWI charges – 718 alcohol-related and 72 drug-related.
