Lincoln County sheriff’s investigators credit their police dog Anya with sniffing out cocaine and marijuana in a man’s home Wednesday.
Narcotics detectives went to the home in the 1400 block of Rhodes Rhyne Road with a search warrant. The road is off South Grove Street Extension and N.C. 150 near Lincolnton.
Anya found the drugs in a bedroom. “Anya was able to pinpoint the location where drugs were being stored in the residence, which made our search much easier and ultimately led to the arrest,” narcotics Lt. Jon Propst said.
Marcus Stevenson Horne, 42, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, both felonies, and possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, which are misdemeanors.
