Man in custody after shots fired in Gastonia

A Gastonia shootout ended with one person in custody on Saturday night near the intersection of Lewis Road and Freedom Mill Road in the Chapel Grove area. A SWAT team was called to the scene.

Gaston County police officers said someone called 911 and reported that a man was shooting outside his home on Lewis Road.

The gunman reportedly fired several rounds, striking at least one house, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.

No one was hurt. Officers have not released the name of the man in custody.
