Two people are in custody after deputies in Iredell County pulled them over and found what appeared to be a mobile methamphetamine lab inside.

Deputies also found two bags of methamphetamine during a search of the car, according to a report from Sheriff Darren Campbell.

Avery Michael Bostain of Statesville and Samantha Marie Ewart of Rockwell were being held at the Iredell County Detention Center in lieu of a $20,000 secured bond.

Both have been charged with one count each of felony possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of methamphetamine precursors.

Deputies stopped the vehicle Friday in western Iredell County. An exact location was not included in the report.

Deputies sealed off an area as narcotics detectives determined that the chemicals in the vehicle were safe to handle.

The items seized are used for manufacturing methamphetamine. A description of the items found in the vehicle was not provided.
